Our Birch Island follows our family of four as we improve our Northeast Ohio home, cook together, and plan outdoor-minded adventures.

Why we started

Most projects begin with the same questions: What will work here? What will it cost? What materials will survive four seasons? We created this site to document the answers we discover.

What you’ll find

We share measurements, budgets, materials, routes, lodging areas, recipes, mistakes, and what we would change next time. Our goal is useful detail—not showroom perfection.
